Mad Science Horror Double Bill

Celebrate memorial day weekend with with some truly weird science. MCMM is back with the second part of our VHS UNDEAD Screening Series! MAD MAD SCIENCE is a hair raising double feature of two hidden gems from the video store days: BLUE MONKEY and THE REJUVENATOR.

The screening is free, but there will be a suggested $4 donation* at the door. Each donation comes with a free popcorn and fountain drink!

Doors open at 6pm, so come early to grab a seat, order some delicious food (we're partial to the queso and Bandito Tacos), sip on a margarita (or two), and kick back as we play KILLER TRIVIA! Show off your B-movie knowledge to your friends and you could win one of our wicked prizes!

Films will begin screening promptly at 7pm. Both pictures are Rated R and contain adult themes. Please, no outside food or drink.

THE FILMS:

BLUE MONKEY - An over the top, goopy throwback to giant insect films of the atomic age. Equal parts THEM and ALIENS. Mentioned as part of Bloody Disgusting's "Top 5 Horror Films Stuck on VHS"

"Detective Jim Bishop and Dr. Rachel Carson must find a way to stop a giant monstrous insect that's eating people in a quarantined hospital before it procreates and spreads a deadly infection that could destroy the world."

THE REJUVENATOR - It's like SUNSET BOULEVARD or ALL ABOUT EVE by way of RE-ANIMATOR! What more could you possibly want?

"A rich actress who has gotten too old for leading roles employs a scientist working on a formula for eternal youth. After taking the serum, her beauty is restored, but unforeseen side effects turn her into a murderous monster."

We can't wait to see ya' there!

*Why the donation? Well, Magic City Midnight Movies aims to bring you the best film events that cater to the weirdo in us all. Your donation is massively helpful in ensuring we can license the films you want to see in the locations you want to be. Not only that, but we're building up to launching Birmingham's very first horror film festival, and every penny counts. Consider becoming a bi-annual member (only $25). If you're interested, ask us how.
